Voltz Toys (also referred to as “VoltzToys,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the official Canadian website at voltztoys.ca and is responsible for personal information collected and processed through this website, our official store, customer service, and related business channels.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how we protect and retain it, and how customers can manage their privacy choices.

This Policy applies to:

  • the official VoltzToys Canada website at voltztoys.ca;

Transactions completed through Amazon, Walmart, or another third-party platform are also governed by the privacy policy of the applicable platform. Personal information that VoltzToys receives from those platforms for order fulfilment or after-sales service will continue to be handled in accordance with this Policy.

1. Privacy Accountability

VoltzToys has designated a Privacy Officer to oversee personal-information management, privacy requests, complaints, and related internal processes.

We collect and use only the personal information necessary to provide the relevant services and fulfil the reasonable business purposes described in this Policy.

Using this website does not mean that a customer unconditionally consents to every form of data collection or advertising tracking. Where processing is not necessary to complete an order or provide a service, we will offer appropriate consent, unsubscribe, or privacy-preference choices based on the circumstances and applicable requirements.

Payments may be processed by Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, or another payment service provider displayed at checkout.

VoltzToys generally does not directly receive or store a customer’s complete payment-card number or security code. We may receive limited information such as payment status, transaction number, payment-method type, card brand, and a partially masked card number to verify payments, process refunds, prevent fraud, and manage orders.

Payment service providers process payment information according to their own privacy policies and security standards.

2.4 Customer Service, Returns, Exchanges, and Warranty Information

3. How We Obtain Personal Information

We may obtain personal information:

  • directly from customers through checkout, accounts, forms, subscriptions, or customer-service communications;
  • automatically through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies when customers visit and use the website;
  • from Shopify, payment providers, carriers, advertising platforms, and other service providers;
  • from Amazon, Walmart, and other platforms through which customers purchase products;
  • from family members, recipients, or other representatives authorized by the customer; and
  • from relevant service providers when necessary to verify payments, delivery, fraud risk, or after-sales issues.

4. Why We Use Personal Information

VoltzToys may use personal information to:

  • create and manage customer accounts;
  • process payments, orders, and refunds;
  • pick, pack, and deliver orders and provide in-store pickup;
  • provide tracking and order-status notifications;

  • comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and other applicable requirements; and
  • create, exercise, or manage records relating to orders, fraud, chargebacks, and disputes.

We will not use information collected for one purpose for a clearly different new purpose without appropriate notice. If the new use requires customer consent, we will explain the new purpose and obtain the required permission.

5. Cookies, Pixels, and Similar Technologies

VoltzToys and its relevant service providers use cookies, web pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website.

These technologies generally fall into the following categories:

5.1 Essential Technologies

These technologies are used for the proper operation of the website, including:

  • shopping-cart and checkout functions;
  • customer login and account security;
  • payments and fraud prevention;
  • language, currency, and regional settings;
  • cookie and privacy-preference records; and
  • website load management, security, and error handling.

Disabling essential technologies may prevent the website or checkout from functioning properly.

5.2 Functional Technologies

These technologies are used to remember customer preferences and support wishlists, Back in Stock notifications, pre-order features, product options, reviews, and other website functions.

5.3 Analytics Technologies

These technologies help us understand website traffic, page performance, how customers navigate the website, and whether website features are working properly.

These tools may include Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity.

Microsoft Clarity and similar tools may generate processed information about page interactions, clicks, scrolling, sessions, and heatmaps to help us improve the website experience. We do not intentionally instruct these tools to record passwords or complete payment-card information.

5.4 Advertising and Marketing Technologies

These technologies may be used to:

  • measure advertising clicks and purchase conversions;
  • reduce repetitive or irrelevant advertising;
  • create advertising audiences;
  • provide remarketing and personalized advertising; and
  • analyze advertising performance across channels such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI.

Depending on which services are actually enabled, tools currently used or potentially used by VoltzToys may include:

  • Google Analytics and Google Ads;
  • Meta Pixel and Conversions API;
  • Microsoft Advertising and Microsoft Clarity;
  • OpenAI Ads Pixel;
  • Shopify Pixels and related App Pixels; and
  • Klaviyo and other email or marketing tools.

Where the relevant features are enabled and consistent with the customer’s privacy choices, certain platforms may receive hashed email addresses, telephone numbers, or order-conversion data for advertising attribution, audience matching, or deduplication.

5.5 Managing Cookies and Advertising Choices

Customers can use the Cookie Banner or Cookie Preferences displayed on the website to manage non-essential cookies and their analytics and marketing choices.

Customers can also delete or block cookies through their browser settings, although doing so may affect certain website functions.

Where prior consent is required, non-essential analytics, targeting, profiling, or advertising technologies should be activated only after the customer makes the relevant choice. If a customer withdraws that choice, we will stop subsequent non-essential processing based on that choice. Withdrawal does not affect processing completed before the choice was withdrawn.

VoltzToys does not sell or rent personal information for the purpose of selling customer lists or receiving money in exchange for those lists. Advertising and analytics service providers may, however, receive limited website-interaction, device, advertising, or conversion data in order to provide services to VoltzToys.

6. Marketing Emails and Text Messages

VoltzToys may send newsletters, promotional messages, product recommendations, Back in Stock notifications, and other commercial electronic messages where a customer has consented or where another valid authorization exists.

Each marketing email should contain clear sender information and an unsubscribe method. Customers may:

  • click the Unsubscribe link in a marketing email;
  • follow the opt-out instructions in a text message; or
  • contact us at help@voltztoys.ca.

Marketing unsubscribe requests will be processed within a reasonable time and no later than 10 business days after receipt.

After unsubscribing from marketing, a customer may still receive communications necessary to complete an order or provide a service, including order confirmations and payment, delivery, refund, warranty, safety, and customer-service notices.

If VoltzToys undergoes a merger, sale, restructuring, financing, or transfer of business assets, personal information may be evaluated or transferred as part of the relevant business records and will remain subject to appropriate protection.

8. Cross-Border Storage and Processing

VoltzToys is located in Canada, but Shopify and other service providers may store or process personal information in Canada, the United States, or other countries and regions.

When personal information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the relevant jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or government authorities where permitted by local law.

VoltzToys takes reasonable measures to assess and manage relevant service providers and cross-border processing risks based on the sensitivity of the information, the nature of the service provider, and business requirements.

9. Retention of Personal Information

VoltzToys retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, provide services, meet reasonable business needs, or satisfy applicable obligations.

For example:

  • order, payment, refund, and tax records are retained as necessary for applicable accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes;
  • customer-service, return, exchange, and warranty information is retained for the period necessary to complete after-sales service and address disputes within a reasonable period;
  • marketing-subscription information is retained until the customer unsubscribes, withdraws consent, or the information is no longer required;
  • cookie and website data are retained according to the relevant technology settings and service-provider retention periods;
  • recruitment information is retained during the recruitment process and for a reasonable subsequent recruitment period; and
  • fraud, security, and chargeback records may be retained for as long as necessary to prevent and manage risk.

Once information is no longer required, we will delete it, securely destroy it, or anonymize it as permitted by law and appropriate in the circumstances.

Customers may contact us to ask about the retention criteria applicable to a particular type of information.

10. Information Security

VoltzToys uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information, including, where applicable:

  • limiting access by employees and service providers;
  • using protected accounts, passwords, and access controls;
  • using e-commerce and payment providers that offer encrypted transmission and security measures;
  • applying internal handling requirements to order, customer-service, and after-sales information;
  • managing service-provider permissions and limiting data sharing to what is necessary; and
  • maintaining processes for investigating and responding to privacy incidents.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a customer believes that an account, payment method, or personal information may have been used without authorization, the customer should contact VoltzToys immediately.

If a privacy incident creates a risk of significant harm to an individual, VoltzToys will take investigative, containment, record-keeping, and notification measures as appropriate in the circumstances and required by applicable law.

11. Customer Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on the customer’s location and applicable requirements, a customer may:

  • ask whether VoltzToys holds personal information about them;
  • request a copy of their personal information;
  • ask how their information has been used and disclosed;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • withdraw consent to optional processing;
  • request deletion of information that is no longer required;
  • manage cookie, analytics, and advertising preferences;
  • unsubscribe from marketing emails or text messages;
  • where applicable, request relevant electronic information in a structured and commonly used technical format; and
  • raise a question or complaint about VoltzToys’ privacy practices.

When a request is submitted, we may need to verify the requester’s identity to avoid disclosing information to an unauthorized person.

VoltzToys will generally respond to a privacy request within 30 days after identity verification is completed. If additional time is required, we will notify the requester where applicable.

Privacy requests are generally free of charge. If a particular request may involve a special fee that we are permitted to charge, we will explain the fee in advance.

Withdrawing consent or requesting deletion does not mean that all information will be deleted immediately. Certain information may need to be retained to complete an order, maintain necessary records, or address tax, refund, warranty, fraud, security, or dispute matters.

If a customer remains dissatisfied with our response, the customer may seek information from or submit a complaint to the applicable federal, provincial, or territorial privacy regulator in Canada.

12. Children’s Privacy

VoltzToys sells children’s products, but the website’s shopping, account, payment, and customer-service functions are intended for adults, parents, and guardians.

We do not knowingly ask children under the age of 14 to independently create an account, purchase products, subscribe to marketing communications, or submit personal information.

Children under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian use the relevant services on their behalf. We do not knowingly use information known to relate to a child for behavioural profiling or targeted advertising.

If a parent or guardian believes that a child submitted personal information to VoltzToys without appropriate permission, please contact us. After verification, we will take reasonable measures to delete the information or restrict its use.

13. Third-Party Websites and Social Media

The VoltzToys website may contain links to third-party websites, social media, payment pages, video platforms, or other external services.

After a customer leaves the VoltzToys website, the relevant third party will handle information according to its own privacy policy. VoltzToys does not control how an independent third party collects and uses information.

Customers should review a third party’s privacy policy before providing personal information to that third party.

14. Updates to This Policy

VoltzToys may update this Policy to reflect changes in our business, website tools, service providers, or privacy requirements.

The updated Policy will be posted on this page and will display a new last-updated date.

If a change materially affects how personal information is used, we will provide notice through the website, email, or another appropriate method, depending on the circumstances. If a new use requires renewed consent, we will separately request the required permission.
